Great product
I'll start by saying I'm just a casual user, not an avid rider or anything like that. This unit does exactly what I wanted it to do. No issues at all except that the instructions were a little spartan, but it's pretty easy to figure out anyway. I use it to ride a half an hour a day with varying resistance settings inside in the A/C rather than out in the FL heat and humidity. It works great for that, though I'm still putting forth enough effort to work up a sweat. The noise issue...When my MTB is on it, it does make a pretty good whine from the knobby tires on the roller. It isn't too bad, but when going at maximum speeds with maximum effort it can reach vacuum cleaner noise levels complete with the high pitched whine. I knew this from other reviews so it didn't bother me. I was actually pleased to find that it only got that loud when under full-speed conditions which are fairly short. Now, when we put my mom's cruiser on it, with wide, but smooth street tires, it gets virtually silent. It only produces a low hum that isn't even as loud as a fan on the high speed setting. You can easily watch TV or hold a normal conversation over it. Conclusion, it's your bike making the noise, not the stand.I really found the handlebar resistance adjustment to be handy. Mom's cruiser is only a single speed so she can still adjust the amount of effort she wants to use without being able to change gears to do so. It also is nice for my MTB even though I can and do change gears to vary the resistance a little more. It's a sturdy unit. I'm about 190 lbs and Mom is near there as well. We've both found our bikes to be stable when on the stand, though the extra height it gives the bike does make it a little more difficult for my short, senior-citizen Mom to get on her bike.We will probably be buying a second unit so we don't have to swap out bikes every time we want to use the thing. (Mom isn't very mechanically inclined or physically strong so it's not something she can easily do.)

Excellent Product
I have a 700cc (aka 29") Schwinn that I ride on the Continental Trail during the summer months and wanted to get some exercise during the long winters up here in the Idaho panhandle. Checked reviews all over the web and decided on the Magnet based on the good reviews and the price point. Couldn't be happier with the purchase. It arrived in 5 days and was a snap to assemble/set up. It's a hefty, SOLID piece of equipment with strong, thick support tubes and great welds. Being able to adjust the tension from the handlebar is an excellent design point found on very few of even the more expensive makes. Yes, you can hear a whine when pedaling but it's really not an issue; you can easily still carry on a conversation at normal voice levels. I set mine up in a corner of an unused room in front of a TV/DVD and, while it still hums (it's a MACHINE!), after a short time you just stop noticing the sound. The assembly directions are written by someone whose first language is not English but it's still understandable and there are more than enough pictures to get you through the assembly process. Took me about 30 minutes to finish set-up from the time I opened the box. A small open-end wrench and an Allen wrench are included for assembly but you will also need a Phillips screwdriver that's not included. One thing: My bike has 29" wheels and the Magnetic Trainer raises the rear wheel about another 3 inches. I have to use a small stool to get up on it and pedal, which I don't mind but you might. Shouldn't be a problem for smaller wheel sizes and no problem at all on a female bike design with the lowered top bar, regardless of wheel size. Once you're on the bike/trainer you will notice how solid and stable it feels. I can stand up and pedal and feel completely secure. Quality piece of equipment at a great price.

Space saving. Good price. Challenge to install.
The items keeping it from a 5 star:It took me a while to figure out the adjustment screw install as the part you screw it into was rotated all the way around so the holes didn't line up but finally figured it out and turned the holder around which lined it up.The adjustment screw is also screwed ALL the way in and it just engages the tire of my "Target" store bought Mongoose bike with mountain bike tires. But it does work and is enough - it does occasionally slip. The device seems well enough constructed however oddly they have add plastic knobs that slip over your bike's wheel nuts that then fit into the device clamps. You'd think they'd want something stronger like steel. So I see those as a likely wear out item it you move your bike in and out of this device. What's good:Rest of the device seems well constructed. It works. I did not have to put anything under front wheel, I just adjusted the seat slanted a bit.The lowest level was good for my leg rehab - easy but not slack. You can increase it to the max on the device, and then you can increase it with your bike's gears to get the rest of the challenge out of it (I didn't realize you had to do the bike gears to get more challenge and glad I tried it as it made all the difference when I needed it harder). It saves space compared to a stationary bike as you can take the bike off and put it in a closet if you wanted. I keep it out all the time however - less stress on those plastic lug nuts covers.Good price compared to a stationary bike - cheap bike and cheap spinner = good combo.

Super produit!
