game changer
I bought this simple side handle to avoid buying an entire camera cage that I personally hate. I'm all for minimalism tools on camera to preserve aesthetics; if that's the case for you too, do not hesitate.

Feels sturdy on my Mamiya 645
Feels sturdy and overall well-built. Plate does turn a little with some pressure, but not really a problem. The mamiya is a heavy camera, so I’m satisfied that it feels stable.

Comfortable handle and sturdy
The handle and plate are made of lightweight aluminum and its very sturdy. The handle portion as soft foam around the front and back for your hands and is pretty comfortable to hold. Its pretty easy to assemble and mount onto your camera and adds a nice handle for shooting with 2 handle. I don't always require that but its nice to have this as an option, especially with a longer telephoto lens on.I like that it has several 1/4 20 holes for mounting additional devices like a light or monitor. There are several on the top of the handle and 3 on the curved base as well as on the end opposite the handle. Lots of options. It also includes a hot shue slot on the handle which actually works out better than the one on the camera to allow a slight offset from being right in the middle. This kit includes the allen wrenches to tighten the screws as well as one extra screw which is nice. Overall its a nice setup and not too heavy to add onto your camera.

6.1 oz weight, not easily reversible.
The media could not be loaded. This is a universal side handle for any camera / device with a 1/4-20 tripod mount on the bottom. It extends off to the left of your camera (although you could rotate it to extend off to the right, but the handle would then be behind the camera). The handle weighs 6.1oz or 173g, and the only downside to using it is that it makes your camera heavier. The handle is made of curved aluminum with rubber padding on the front and back, and while not quite as nice as wood is still comfortable to hold. The base plate has a piece of rubber that keeps the camera from rotating around the mounting screw, but does mean you can not reverse it, only rotate it. The base plate has six different 1/4-20 threaded holes so you can use it on top of a tripod. The handle has a cold shoe slot and a few 1/4-20 holes for mounting other accessories on top of it.Overall this is a perfectly fine handle. The weight is a bit more than I would like, but it is very solid. There is nothing I especially loved about it, but also nothing obviously bad about it.
