My favourite Fountain Pen
Love the weight of the brass and design and reliability of the Kaweco Pens. This is my working and go to pen for all times. It fits easily in a trouser pocket, never leaks, always writes. And I have bought two other types Kaweco pens since for other people as gifts.Highly recommended writing experience and particularly if you want to have something a little more pleasurable for your working life. ... you are unlikely not to like this pen. I have used the plastic ones, which I like, but I do like the extra weight and feel of the brass.

Very durable and heavy, high quality finish, mediocre nib.
The actual pen body is very nice made of untreated brass, which develops a lovely patina over time. If you don't like the patina I do not recommend this pen. It is extremely durable, you could throw it around outside on concrete and still expect to write with it. The pen is quite heavy, at around 48g. The pen is very short unposted and is unsuable without being posted unless you have small hands. The pen is slightly back heavy when posted, and slightly front heavy when not. The nib is really quite small, it is about the same size as a standard lamy nib, like on the safari/AL-Star or studio. The nib writes okay, about as well as a parker sonnet steel, not quite as good as a lamy studio. However the nib can be swapped out for a 14K gold version. I bought the version of this pen with a fine nib, I find it writes like a Chinese extra fine and it lays down a rather dry line when using the kaweco ink cartridges. You may find your writing experience slightly different though. If you are looking for a durable pen that will last you years for quick note taking or writing things down, I highly recommend this pen, I wouldn't write an essay with it personally, its just too heavy, but overall great buy and I have no regrets.

Solid fountain pen with antique looks and great writing performance.
Bought this as I have a few other Kaweco pens, but wanted one with a decent width to fit in a custom made notes folder. This is a really solid pen and being brass after just a few days it looks like an antique, like you had it passed down the family to you. The pen is solid in the hand, you have to place the cap on the rear in use (otherwise it is too short for you hand). Not everyone will like a pen of this weight, but i prefer the solidity. In terms of writing this is smooth with excellent distributino of ink onto the paper. The nib is quite thin but this makes for a pen you can write a lot with. I left this pen and didn't touch it for 3 months (I was not using it during lockdown), after 3 months of non use I opened it and started to write. I expected it to have dried up, or take a while to get going. To my surprise it wrote on the very first stroke, like I had just used it yesterday. This speaks to the enduring quality and engineering in the pen. Sure this is an expensive pen, but it will last you a lifetime and be a trusted writing companion.

Heavy brass pen, writes fine. The lid on mine does not attach securely.
A good pen, I owned Lamys for many years but I found they often leaked. This is probably one of the heaviest pens out there, which is okay for me. The flat sided lid is very comfortable and the fact that it screws on closed is good. I was surprised at how short it is when closed, and without the lid. It really does need the lid on the back to be a comfortable writing size. Only minor issue is the brass can sometimes leave your hand a bit greenish I've noticed, I don't know if that is a new user thing or if it is a constant part of using the pen. Luckily this doesn't bother me but it may bother some...The main issue I have is that the lid does not fasten very securely any more (after 3 years). Maybe the lid threading is worn or gunked up - but the threading is very shallow so this seems likely to affect others as well.

Great metal pen.
My absolute favourite pen. Of all the (many) pens I've bought over the year, this is the best. A good weight and made of quality brass. It has a smooth writing nib and is incredibly well made.
