Great with only one problem (for me)
This USB power cord is a great idea, elegantly designed and when the TV is on works perfectly. As all the 5 star reviews say, it powers the Fire Stick, saves an outlet (the wall plug is pretty big), reduces cord clutter, etc.The problem I discovered using this with my LG TV is that when the TV is off, the power to the USB port shuts off. This means that if the TV is off for an extended period of time, such as over night or when I'm gone for the weekend, the FireStick runs out of standby power and has to be unplugged and reset every time I turn the TV back on to use it. With the wall charger the FireStick is able to remain in sleep mode and fully powered so that when I turn the TV back on it is ready to wake up and show me my wonderful shows and movies and games.I believe it would be possible to use this cord during an extended TV marathon and fully charge up the FireStick so that it had ample power to standby over night. It may be a smarter use of the $14.99 to buy a power strip that spaces each outlet out more and use the included wall plug.UPDATE: The excellent customer service at Mission contacted me (based on my Amazon review alone) and is working to fix the issue I mentioned. Will add more info once I try their solution.UPDATE 2: The Mission Power USB Cables work really well on two of the three TVs in my house. A 24" LG and a 32" Panasonic both power up the FireTV Stick via the Mission USB cable beautifully. The 39" LG (model 39LN5300) just doesn't want to give it the power it needs.I can not say enough about how impressed I am with Mission Power USB's excellent customer service! Thank you, Brian. I am going to buy another FireTV Stick to use this cable in another room. Also, I will be careful when buying a new TV and make sure this cable works in it.I have upped my rating to 5 stars because I think this is a problem with one of my TVs and not a problem with this cable.

Cut the Power Cord to the Fire TV Stick
Works great on my LG 32 inch LCD TV. I like not having to use the sticks power cable since the TV is mounted on the wall, this eliminates the cord. I have no problems with the Fire TV Stick working as well as a corded version. The only negative is that my USB port must loose power when I turn the TV set off. This causes the stick to load from scratch when I turn on the set and switch to the HDMI port for my Fire TV Stick, vs. just loading the home page which would be normal operation using the Amazon power cord. This is NOT the fault of the Mission Power USB Cable but the fault of the LG TV set design. This start up issue adds about 10 seconds to the loading of the home screen...not bad, just something to be aware of.

Benefit of the doubt.
Unfortunately, the Mission Power USB cable is one of those things that gets taken for granted. In addition, it gets all the blame when something goes wrong. The cable is great and it serves its purpose. It is out of sight and out of mind because it is located behind my TV unbeknownst and unidentifiable to the world until, something goes wrong:There has been a few times that I've turned on my TV and nothing happens. I began by troubleshooting the TV, then moved on to the Amazon Fire Stick, and even rebooted the WIFI connection, but to no avail. I began the hands on phase of troubleshooting by removing the Amazon Fire Stick from its HDMI port, plugging it back in, and still nothing. The natural next step was to remove the power source and so I did. I removed the MP USB power cable from the USB port, plugged it back in and nothing. I was baffled. The only other thing I could thing of was to detach the MP USB cable from the Amazon Fire Stick itself at the micro USB port. I plugged it back in and voila: the Amazon Fire Stick came back online. This problem has occured a couple more times and I went through the entire process to give the MP USB power cable the benefit of the doubt, but unfortunately, the MP USB power cable is the source of my troubles. Now, granted, it could be the USB ports of the Sony Bravia LCD TV that I purchased way back in 2010. So once again, I will give the Mission Power USB cable the benefit of the doubt. 4 starts is my rating until further notice.

Worked Fine for the Short Time It was Used
I bought this to power a Fire Stick purchased at the same time. While the box says its designed for the Fire Stick, the stick's instructions clearly state to use their enclosed AC to microUSB adapter. Confusing... which do you believe? I tried the adapter, as it meant far less cord tangle and one more AC outlet still available. Over 3 evenings trying to get the Fire Stick to work, 2 of those evenings I powered it with this adapter. Both evenings I had numerous problems with the stick. The third evening I used the adapter that came with the Fire Stick. It made no difference. Clearly... it was the Fire Stick, not this adapter causing my problems.I returned the Fire Stick without problem, but Initially Amazon would not take item this back as the time to return it had passed. I explained my situation to them and they made an exception. It is unfortunate I had to return this product, but without the Fire Stick I no longer had a use for the this neat powering method, as it appeared to work just fine.
